    LADIES;
    ‘To-Whom-It-May-Concern I Would like to thank each one of the W.A.S.P.’s personally, give ‘each’ a hug/kiss, and tell them how much I appreciate ‘each’ one of them for their time and service at Avenger Field!! I know we have lost some of them over the years, but I would like for all living to know this!!! I’m a product of the end of WWII (born Nov.4, 1944), and the tail end of Military active Avenger Field. I grew up in Sweetwater, Texas, and have always felt very close ties to these women! They are a part of my make-up and close History. Each one of them have been in my heart/mind all my life!!
    I’m sorry that I couldn’t make the ‘Fly-In’ on the 25th. I also missed my
    45th High School Class Reunion, because of some health problems. Our class
    donated funds (from our last Class Reunion) toward the W.A.S.P. Museum (Avenger Field).
    I still can’t understand the ‘raw courage/guts’ these women had, to pull a
    practice drone behind them, sitting on an extra parachute, so they could
    fly their plane, and let some ‘punk guys/kids shoot at them, with ‘live’ ammunition ??????? They had more guts or less sense than I have ever
    had!!! GOD Bless these women!!!!!!!
    Best Regards and Deep Admiration to the W.A.S.P.’s

    PS. This is the only way I know to get this information to them!! Thanks!

    My WASP mama says “how nice, we loved it in Texas and GOD we loved
    Sweetwater and we’ll always remember the wonderful people there. You are so
    special to us, to fly back to our sacred ground is full circle.”

    Bless your heart for sending us this.

    Hello Cindy,

    I have been reading about the WASP reunion on the website and was so excited. I have been following the history of the WASP for sometime now. I used to work and live 3 years ago at Eagle Field AAFB in Dos Palos, CA. I designed a display dedicated to Women in Aviation including the WASP knowing that they delivered planes to that field during the war. I have been a Stearman pilot for several years and recently purchased my own PT-17. I also just found out that the plane I bought was assigned to Eagle Field where I lived and helped with the ongoing restoration. I think it was destiny that brought the plane and I together. I used to sit in the main north hangar in the ready room and daydream about the men and women who worked and flew the planes of WWII. Sometime’s even get an unexpected visit from the “Ghost’s” of Eagle Field.

    Anyway I think it’s a great thing you have done for these wonderful women in aviation. The man I lived with and owner of Eagle Field put on the Doolittle Reunion in Fresno in 2001. Also a great event. I just wish I could have been one of the volunteer pilots as my dream is to fly my plane into Avenger Field. I proudly wear the Fifinella Patch on my flightsuit in honor of the WASP of WWII. Please let me know if you do this again next year. I would love to attend!

    All the Best,

    I have been reading more and more about WWII and about the WASP’s and the WAVES. Those were/are some outstanding women and should be recognized as such. I love pioneering women, it inspires me to achieve great things myself. Thank you ladies for the devotion you showed to our country, even in a time when “thanks” were hard to come by. To put it in modern terms, you rock!
