And the comments keep coming!

Published by Lisa at 6:41 pm under General Information

Just a brief follow-up.  I will be keeping this site, Operation Fifinella, running until the end of time.

I love these women and everything they represent (esp. as a woman myself).  Their courage, determination and strength are a real inspiration.  I am honored to have met so many of these women in person, spent time with and even be “adopted” by a group of them (Helen Snapp, Bee Haydu, Barry Smith, Fran Sargent, Betty Blake, Penny Halberg and Ruth Fleisher).

I am encouraged to see relatives, friends, and other awe-inspired people contine to comment on the site.  Please keep the comments coming and check back on the individual WASP pages for those comments!  I hope that we all can continue to spread the word about their effort in the War and how they helped open doors for women to become pilots.

May God bless them all!

… And if anyone has any stories they would like to share about the WASP, friend or family, I would love to add them to the site.

Lisa

    Hi Lisa,

I attended the Air Show in Key Stone Heights in February 2009 and had such a wonderful time with the WASP ladies, I sat with them at the Hanger party and attended the forum on Sunday they participated in.

I heard about this airshow by Joy and Jay who do WWII commemorative characters and Joy wears a flight suit representing my Mother Constance Young Reynolds, WASP class 43-7. I actually have all of Mom’s WASP items and I do programs on the WASP complete with her story and uniform display. Mom was Region I director in 1997. She passed away 6 years ago and it took me awhile to delve into all of this history she had kept with her for all these years.
It was at the Wings of Dreams Airshow that I saw the University of FL display on The Samuel Proctor Oral History Program. I contacted them and they came to my home and did an interview and filmed my program and all the memorabelia.
I would be happy to send a copy to you and have her added to this site.
Thank you for sharing and making this available to all. Julia
